this seems like the best guide online and it has the best feedback but i follow the instructions and I always get a Kernel panic when i try and start up off the usb flash drive or sd card 😦 it always fails at start and i have read instructions over and over. any ideas anyone?

    • at what point does this happen? like before or after you have installed snow leopard?

Before just when I am going to start the whole process.

      • You might have to try to redo the entire flash drive/sd card. Also, are you actually getting to pick the flash drive/sd card for bootup?

I have redone it several times now still no luck. Yes i pick it at start up. I have tried usb flash card and sd card I am re doing it now in fact.

    • make sure you are using the 10.6.0 version of snow leopard and that you are installing the myhackinstaller onto the flash drive/sd card properly.

Hi, i just finished installing OSX 10.6.0 on my asus 1005ha… your guide is great… worked perfectly…. I updated to 10.6.4 the way you said as well… only problem i’m having is my computer will not go to sleep. I set the computer sleep to 15minutes, and i wait. nothing. DISPLAY sleep works, but not SLEEP/HIBERNATE… Wen when i close the lid, the blue light will continue to blink forever… is that normal or what? i don’t want any overheating problems or wasting of battery. Thanks…

    • This, I believe, was a known problem back on 10.6.4. If you continue to update you should not have a problem with this anymore.
