Hackintosh 1005ha/1005hab, etc -1gb system battery update

Hey Guys,

Forgot to add this part to the tutorial. If you only have 1gb in your netbook, and don’t expect to update to 2gb, you have to change your DSDT file. I personally recommend upgrading to 2gb, because OS X will run a lot faster. But if you don’t feel like spending the extra money…here’s what you have to do:

edit your DSDT file and change the following…

change it from:

OperationRegion (BIOS, SystemMemory, 0x7F7AE064, 0xFF)***THIS is what it is for 2gb systems, don’t use this code***

OperationRegion (BIOS, SystemMemory, 0x3F7AE064, 0xFF)***This is what you want to change it to. This is for 1gb systems***

for information on how to edit your DSDT file, visit http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/DSDT

I personally have no had to edit this file, so I really don’t know a lot about it. Still post problems and such that you have and I will try to resolve it

Thank you for this post. I just bought an 1005hab for my mom as a Christmas gift. I’m going to load it with OS X. I’m following your guide to do it. Thank you for doing this. šŸ™‚

I recommend the DSDT mods referred by Kenneth C.Y.Wu here. I have tested them on my 1008HA, and they do work. Resolves almost all sleep-related issues, except the Asus Hotkeys do not work properly after wake from sleep.

    • Did you use my guide to install Snow Leopard on your computer? That topic states it was for use with the netbookinstaller method.

I found that NetBookInstaller gives me a much stabler system and much closer to vanilla. You don’t have to touch any of the system kexts. Regardless, those DSDT mods can be made to any system whether you’re using MyHack or NBI to boot.
